Devon League Premier Champions and Senior Cup winners 2009

Founded in 1823 Sidmouth Cricket Club is one of Devon’s best known and, indeed, it was in the pavilion in 1875 that the Somerset County Cricket Club was formed. The Sidmouth Club were founder members of the Devon Cricket League and run three league sides. The club runs an active Colt Section for ages (8 – 15 years).  In addition to a very attractive ground on the sea front, the club boasts an extensive pavilion, which hosts many club and outside functions in a friendly and jovial environment.

Welcome to Sidmouth Cricket Club
The Pavilion - the photo shows the pavilion with the new thatch. Congratulations must go to master thatcher Mark Smith and his team who have done a fantastic job.

To all who have donated to the £45,000 needed for this major project, the Sid Valley Association, Friends of Fortfield, the club and its members, Councillor Stuart Hughes and Devon County Council, anonymous donors and visiting touring teams, a big thank you.

One Test I can't afford to miss

Mark Jasper has managed to spread awareness again!

"A study has found that 1 in 7 county players had to be referred to specialists after the discovery of potential melanomas during check-ups. Now the Professional Cricketer's Association has organised screening for all its members at private clinics nationwide run by the dermatology specialists sk:n. Of those screened so far, 15% have been told they need further checks."
