Tom Moore is the Most improved Young Player for the 2017 season

The Sidmouth Cricket Player Development Charitable Trust has donated a new cup which formed part of the awards night held last Friday evening at the Bedford Hotel on Sidmouth's seafront.

The first winner of the Cup was Tom Moore, one of a number of Sidmouth Cricket Club's young talented cricketers. Tom's progress over the last 18 months has seen him start wicket keeping in 2016 for the 3rd team to keeping for the 2nds most of this past season, with the odd call up to the 1st team in 2017 and then being selected to keep for the Devon Lions on a number of occasions. His batting has progressed and a couple of well crafted 50s opening for the 2nd XI has shown he will have much to offer the Club next season and beyond.

His development has been aided by the Trust, which has provided one to one coaching for Tom and a number of other young cricketers at the Club. The Trust's aim is promote participation in the game of cricket and facilitate a sense of belonging and loyalty to Sidmouth Cricket Club. For further information on what the Trust can do for you as a young cricketer at Sidmouth Cricket Club please visit the Trust website, www.thescpdct.com.
Well done to Tom for being the first winner of The SCPDCT Cup and the Trustees would like to wish all our young cricketers continued progress and success with their cricketing development in 2018.
